Pell Grant

If you are eligible to receive a , your award will be based on your Expected Family Contribution as determined by your FAFSA form and your semester credit load. Other factors may contribute to your eligibility including, but not limited to, withdrawal or failure to attend classes and failure to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

is based on extreme financial need for students who are eligible for a Pell Grant. Students are automatically considered for this grant based on the results of their FAFSA. The maximum award is $1,500.

Eligible students must meet these requirements each academic year:

• Complete a FAFSA by January 1 priority deadline
• Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
• Have a -1,500 Student Aid Index (SAI) as determined by the FAFSA
• Have not previously received a bachelor's degree or higher
• Not owe a repayment or be in default under any state or federal grant or loan program
• Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant provides awards of up to $4,000 a year to students who plan to complete course work needed to begin a career in teaching. It is designed to encourage highly qualified teachers to serve in low-income schools in high-need fields.

State government-funded grants use the FAFSA to help determine your specific financial needs. They are good for helping to fill any gaps that remain after federal assistance aid. Completing your FAFSA will also check for these NC state grants and scholarships.

NC Scholarship: This scholarship is for North Carolina residents with financial need enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at one of the 16 institutions of The University of North Carolina or at a North Carolina Community College. 

Eligible students must:

• Be a North Carolina resident as defined by North Carolina Residency Manual
• Enroll for at least 6 credit hours
• Be admitted, enrolled, and classified as an undergraduate student in matriculated status in a degree, certificate, or diploma program at one of the 16 institutions of The University of North Carolina or at a North Carolina Community College

The Seahawk Grant is provided by ÁðÁ§ÉñÉçto help students offset the cost of tuition. It is awarded based on need as determined by the FAFSA.
